May 23 Tiger with my Japanese friendsLast Saturday I took my Japanese friends, my colleagues Kyoko, Aiko, and her sister Kumiko, to Tiger. Kyoko is our school's student, Aiko and Kumiko goes to another English school. Before they went to there, they worried about speaking English. But they were fine!! They talked with some people in English.
I think Tiger is a good place to improve English with having fun. We have to speak loudly and guess what other person said because it is noisy. We can talk many people, meet new people. We can have great time all togather!! I like that place except smoky atmosphere...
My friends like it and want to come again. Welcome to my weekend. hehe ; ) May 22 Rowing Peron boatI went to Aioi to row Peron boat with Jon M, Steff and Jon H yesterday. Jon M's colleague invited him to take part in Peron boat race, and he invited us the day before yesterday. First I thought I rowed it only that day, but a man, leader of the team, asked us about our schedule of next Sunday. We can take part in Peron boat race! It's wired. I haven't come to Peron Festival and seen Peron boat race. I wanted to see. But I got on the boat before I saw the race!! The training was so hard. We had to row to the shout 'ichi, ni, san'. I shouted in my mind 'mou, iya, da! (I want to stop rowing!.)', and Steff's one was 'Oh, my, god!!'. Our training lasted 2 hours. It was beautiful day, we enjoyed good exercise.
About after that.... I have to apologize to many people, Jon M, Steff, Jon H, Mariko, Ai and Reza, for my dangerous driving and miss arrangements. I was too tired. Sooo soorrrry!!!
Next Sunday we have to assmble on time in Aioi. If we are late, our team will take some penalty. Jon M, Steff, Jon H and Meg, don't be late!!!
May 18 Basketball -I got blues again!!I joined basketball on Sunday, and got blues again. I bumped into Jon and fell down. It was only me, he didn't move and probably notice I was behind him. He is too TALL. I didn't have an ache in that day, but next day I couldn't bear to keep sitting. My job is office work, though. Before it happened, I had really nice time. Jon, Mariko, Steff and I played at playground in front of the gym. It was nice. All we were like big children! Jon was like a big monkey!! haha
After basketball I went to subway, amazingly it was first time. The sandwich was delicious!! I want to eat again. That night Mariko and I watched the movie 'となりのトトロ (My neighbor Totoro)'. We were so excited because I hadn't seen it for long time, and for Mariko it is her childhood movie, she watched it many times with her mother with no subtitles, she remember the story more than me. We laughed all the time. It is good movie. We really enjoyed!! May 16 Mother's DaySunday was Mother's Day. I gave my mother flowers. It was carnations. I bought it in Himeji, and went through Miyuki street with bringing it. Many people looked at me, and started to talk about Mother's Day. It was lovely! May 11 Tacos party & Girlie nightLast Friday I joined tacos party at Reza's house. It was a hot day, some people got a sunburn. When I got there, foods were already cooked, some people baked bread for tacos. That was the first time to make and eat tacos, so I didn't know how to do it. Steff demonstrated for Japanese. It was delicious, but hard to eat without spilling. On the table and floor was so messy. And we drank so much tequila. Mixed tequila Jo and Mariko made was nice. We also drank tequila shots. That was also the first time to drink tequila shots. Salt, tequila and lemon!! I enjoyed it. I think I am gettin stronger than before. And we spilled it many times. Floor and a sofa was messy. Sorry Reza!! After that we enjoyed dancing. Mariko, Steff and Jo was nice! And Jon and I was the last porson who stopped dancing. hehe I enjoyed so much!!
Next day was a working day for Jo and Mariko. I took them to their school, and Kyoko and I decided to have a coffee there. Probably we smelled of tequila. I didn't want to talk anyone, but Osamu wanted to know what happened last night. I thought 'Don't ask...' We were so tired. I would come to school again, but I couldn't. After I went back home, I slept until 4. I missed a beautiful day.
That night was girlie night! But all we were so tired because all of us joined yesterday's party. While we were eating pizza, it was quiet. Then we drank wine, we got enegy again!! We played two drink games. It was like a kind of lesson for me. I explained some words in English, and acted to express the meaning of the word. I never forget the action of Jon's Makoto and Steff's Reza and Kyoko. It was so funny. I did cry!! Then we danced again and watched a movie before we slept. The movie was 'Howl's Moving Castle'. It was lucky for me because I said to a Brazilian guy to see that movie in golden week and would talk about it (by e-mail). I wanted to see it. But I was drank and sleepy, I couldn't understand the story and the characters. Sorry Igor, I did, but I should watch again.
Next day we woke up late, we ate pancake breakfast ( or lunch??) and watched a movie. We relaxed all the time. And we ate Jo's spaghetti and drank wine for dinner. It was delicious. Thank you for cooking, Jo. During that time I forgot that I had to work next day. My golden week was over. It started with drinking chu-hai and ended with drinking tequila and wine. That was my golden week. May 10 ShizuokaI stayed my friend's house for 3 days in Shizuoka. It was sooo nice. Scenery was good, foods were great! Shizuoka has many famouse fishing ports, so we can eat fresh fish. We went to izakaya and ate raw fish, deep fried shrinps (sakura ebi), black puffy cake made of ground fish (hanpen), boild peanuts etc. and drank Japanese sake. It was so delicious! We can eat these foods only in Shizuoka. I've missed that since I left there. The most surprised thing was a horse mackerel we orderd as sashimi was still alived. The skin and meat was taken off, only head, bones and tail was there. Sometimes the fish opend its mouth and breathed. So scary. I took a video, but the file doesn't work. I wanted to show the video to my friends.:(
We saw beautiful Mt.Fuji. I took many pictures of it with amateur photographers. hehe I could took from good angles. I have climbed up Mt.Fuji once. But I was a elementary school student, so I don't remember well. I want to climb again. But I heard that to climb up Mt.Fuji twice in life is not good. Is that true??
We went to the university we graduated, and I saw a girl bringing the mandline. Next day was their regular concert. So that's why I decided to come to Shizuoka in golden week. ( I belonged to the mandline club when I was a university student.) But I had to go back home in that day, so I couldn't listen their music. I will try to come here at next their concert!! May 01 From ShizuokaNow I am in Shizuoka. I came here to see my friend. We are friends from university. Her job is teacher. She teaches Japanese, Korean and how to teach Japanese for adults, so she usually works at night. Today she went to work and I am waiting in her room. I am bored, so I am writeing this blog.
I have been in Shizuoka for 4 years when I was a university student. When I reached at Shizuoka station, I felt strange feeling. I didn't come here in two years, so I forgot many things. But suddenly I remembered a lot of things. I felt if I would live here now, and I were going home. It was weird.
My friend lives near Mt.Fuji. We enjoyed driving around Mt.Fuji. I could see Mt.Fuji! :) But it was not crearly because of the hazy weather. I hope we can see crealy tomorrow. Mt.Fuji is still covered with snow. I like seeing it.
I have to wait for her for another 2 hours. I will see a movie. :( my weekendLast Sunday I stayed at my teacher's apartment again. This time I watched movies and TV shows with Brady and Mariko. First Brady selected the movie 'Reservoir Dogs'. Mariko and I don't like scary film. He said it was a kind of comedy, but it was violence and bloody movie. Many guys were killed. Mariko and I screamed all the time. When one guy's ear was cut off, Mariko screamed and screamed, and she said she didn't want to see the side of his face. Luckly it was not so long, it finished. Then Brady selected another movie 'Sin City'. He said it was not scary, but it was also violence movie. We screamed again. And it also contained the scene one guy's ear was cut off. What a coincidence. Poor Mariko, she screamed again. Mariko and I thought no more violence movie. So we decided to see comedy TV show 'Scrubs'. It was good. We could relax and stayed up until 4.
Next morning after Mariko and Jo left, Mr.Ishida called Brady to have a coffee. I joined them. We went to Muche. Brady's student Riri worked there. He ordered a fruit parfait, so she put little Japanese flag on the top of that, and it had his name. It was so funny. Old women sitting next to our table laughed. Good job!
We left there, and Brady decided to drive my car to Himeji. He sometimes drive my car, and it was safety, so I wasn't scared. (Jo is scared his driving. She said to me you were brave. And when he drove my car to take Jo to the station, she said we should tighten our seat belt, she sat in the back seat though.) But Mr.Ishida followed us by his car. It was like a race. Two big childen drove real cars. It was fun, but I felt scared a little...
I will stay their apartment in this weekend for our girlie night. Every weekend I stay there... I think it's my second house.
